Ingredients
4–6 vanilla pods
per 1 cup of vodka
Vodka
Enough to completely cover the beans.
Airtight glass jar
Instructions
- Split the vanilla pods.
Use a sharp knife to split the pods lengthwise and expose the beans. - Add to a jar.
Place the split beans in a clean, airtight jar. - Cover with vodka.
Pour vodka over the beans until they are completely covered. - Let it infuse.
Store in a cool, dark place for at least 4 months. The longer, the better. - Shake weekly.
Give the jar a gentle shake once a week to help the flavors develop.
